Crimson Star's 1959 AC Ace Bristol 100D2 |
||
It was 1969. I had just returned from
Vietnam. I deserved a reward, and this was it! Who cared if the seats were too upright?
Who cared if there was no heater? Who cared if it took 30 minutes to put the top up? Who
cared if the trunk was too small to carry groceries? The previous owner raced this car at SCCA events in California. The 100D2 engine was freshly balanced, blueprinted, and tricked out. It weighed about 1550 lbs, pumped out about 155 hp, and was once timed at 143 mph! |
